As we welcome you to celebrate the beginning of our marriage, we want to share with you the journey we’ve been on since a warm April Saturday in 2016.
Tiffany and Patrick found each other in the same way many couples do in this modern time: online. She sent him a smile, and then they texted back and forth, but finding time to actually talk proved difficult. Tiffany is ever the busy traveler, and Patrick was helping his daughter complete her junior year of high school. Finally, on April 16, their paths crossed. Patrick and Tiffany decided to meet and accompany each other, along with some of Patrick’s family, to a music festival in Clarksville, Tennessee. As Tiffany drove the hour between Clarksville and Nashville, Patrick – who had been dressed for farm work earlier in the day – drove in a panic to the nearest store to find something to wear on their suddenly scheduled first date.
When they met that night, he was wearing a newly bought pair of shorts and shirt, and someone else’s shoes and belt. Patrick was, from that moment, amazed at the woman he had met. In the midst of the chaos of that day, he felt calmness when with her. Tiffany, who had driven 11 hours from Florida to Tennessee in the same day and then another hour north to Clarksville, hoped she wouldn’t be too tired to engage in that always awkward first date small talk. Once they finally met, she knew there was something there, and left that evening with her cheeks hurting from smiling and her heart full of hope that Patrick could be her person.
The next day became date number two, and that Wednesday date three. Then came hikes, and day trips, and nights out eating tacos and listening to music. Somewhere along the way, they developed the habit of marking places they visited, or places they wanted to visit together, by ‘dropping a pin’ on Google maps. And so, days became weeks and weeks became months and oh, the places they pinned. All across the southeast they dropped pin after pin.
Then, on a blustery Sunday in Savannah, in a quiet square in the old city, they dropped the latest – and most important – pin. Patrick asked for Tiffany’s hand in marriage, and she said yes!
So now, Tiffany and Patrick are excited to invite you to join them on June 9th as they begin their lives together.
